Covid Corner with Dr. Gary Jacques

"Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere." _ _Anonymous Hello MANNM staff and Los Alamos community, Facts: 35 new cases of corona virus reported in New Mexico yesterday bringing our total to 315. 13,240 tests were administered. There have been 5 deaths. No cases yet confirmed in Los Alamos county. Commentary: The number of new cases over the past 5 days shows hints of leveling off. It will be interesting to see what happens to this number as testing expands. I'm looking forward to learning the results of tomorrow's testing in White Rock. Social distancing is certainly having a positive effect in New Mexico so let's keep doing our part. Encouragement: A follow-up from yesterday's thoughts on taking care of her own health, so we remain in a position to help others. Let's put in place new practices now in our lives that ensure we emerge from this crisis healthier than before. What a great irony that would be: emerging from this century's greatest health crisis with better diets, exercise habits, personal relationships, social connections than we had going in! Have a great Wednesday! Dr. Jacques
