"Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel" --Eleanor Brown Good Morning MANNM staff and Los Alamos community, Facts: New Mexico has 44 new Covid-19 cases bringing our total to 281. 12,527 tests have been performed to date. There have been four deaths. No reported cases in Los Alamos County. Commentary: The numbers from New Mexico show a lot of variability from day to day. It still hard to identify trends. It looks like total cases double every 3 or 4 days. I think it'll be easier to tell how the epidemics progressing in our state another week. I would continue to assume we have cases in our county and do our best to stay vigilant and safe. Encouragement: There is a lot of talk on the news regarding maintaining and protecting our mental and physical health during the strain caused by this pandemic. I encourage everyone to be proactive in this regard. Many consider a holistic view of health to include: Physical Health Mental/Emotional Health Spiritual Health Relational Health (Family, Friends, Colleagues) Communal Health (Neighborhoods, etc) During these times we have opportunity to look for proactive ways to improve or maintain our health in each of these areas. Some of our colleagues in hard hit areas are suffering worse than we are at the moment. Let's keep them in mind at this time as well. Dr. Jacques
